Chocolate Bark

Jenna Pralat No Comments

Chocolate bark is an easy way to personalize and make a classic Valentine’s Day gift more special. All you need is chocolate and whatever you want to use to decorate it. I used sprinkles and pink candy melts. The first step is to prepare where you are going to assemble the chocolate bark on. Cover…

Hot White Chocolate Peppermint Bombs

Eddie Mazarura No Comments

So I first came across hot chocolate bombs late last year. Now I am not a big hot chocolate drinker. In fact, the last time I had hot choc was 2 years ago. What I liked about the bombs was the aesthetics of the product: this perfect sphere of chocolatey yumminess decorated to entice. With…

French Heart Cookies

Eddie Mazarura No Comments

For Valentine’s 2021, I thought it would be fun to highlight a few traditional and non traditional DIY’s. I am going to start with a food project that is referred to as French heart, in its native land. Palmier Cookies are my most favorite cookies and as some of my students would say, best cookies…

Gingerbread Cookies

Jenna Pralat No Comments

I have always loved the idea of gingerbread cookies and decorating gingerbread houses, but I am not a fan of crunchy hard cookies. These cookies are the perfect balance of soft chewy cookies, but will still hold their shape (just maybe don’t try to build a house)! The first step is to preheat the oven…

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Eddie Mazarura No Comments

So I mentioned in my last hummus post that while I will eat traditntal hummus, I am not a big fan of it. My all time favorite hummus is roasted red pepper. I fell in love as soon as I tasted this for the first time. And what I like about hummus is that it…

So I made this cookie for the first time during spring 2020. I loved the process cos it is the easiest of cookie recipes that I have ever used. And the kiddos loved making it too. By the end of the spring term, a coupla of the students announced how they had made the cookie…

Pumpkin Spice Snickerdoodles

Jenna Pralat No Comments

I am a big fan of cookies, especially the chewy and soft ones. So, I was excited to try this Fall twist on the classic cinnamon snickerdoodle. These pumpkin spice cookies do not contain pumpkin, but they do have the classic fall spice mix. First step is to preheat the oven. Add the sugar to…

Blueberry Vanilla Galette

Eddie Mazarura No Comments

Galettes have been on my list of to-do recipes. And I was pretty excited to try this recipe. What I liked most about the recipe, was the ease. Very few ingredients and very little prep. Unfortunately, I did not get to actually taste. Blueberry vanilla galette’s do not go very well with an alkaline eating…

Pumpkin Hummus

Eddie Mazarura No Comments

So I kinda have a love and hate relationship with hummus. Traditional hummus is not my cuppa tea. While I will eat it on occasion, I would not buy it in a store or order it in a restaurant. But if I was a party, I might partake. Now I tried roasted red pepper hummus…

Mini Chicken Pot Pies

Eddie Mazarura No Comments

Chicken pot pie may be one of the if not the best comfort food ever. I generally don’t like savory dishes with cream but the combination of ingredients in this dish make this the ultimate in dishes. Its creamy without being too creamy, it has the right amount of onion, pepper and veggies to make…
