This is another in our installment for our series of easy origami animals. Today’s animal is …

Piggie. Check out the simple tutorial below.

Place your origami paper with the right side face down.

Fold the paper in half diagonally and create a sharp crease by using a bone folder or running your nail along the newly created fold line.

Unfold.

Fold diagonally in the other direction to the first fold line. Create a sharp crease

Unfold and place the aper in front of you in a diamond shape.

Create a new fold by. bringing the right corner to the center point where the diagonal lines meet.

Repeat on the other side. Again always making sure that you create your sharp creases.

Bring the top corner down and line it up with the bottom corner to create a horizontal fold. Create a sharp crease.

Fold up the two layers of the corner to create a chin. How much you fold up is really up to you.

Just make sure that the corners line up with the center fold line as you can see in the photo above.

To create the snout, fold down the top layer on the just created chin. Fold it down so that the corner lines up with the center fold line as well as just meets with the just created chin fold.

Now this part is optional but I recommend it if doing this project with younger kids. This step helps younger kids to place the ears on the same place on either side of the head. Fold the head in half vertically.

Then fold the top right corners through all the layers as shown above.

Unfold. Then create a sharp crease on the right ear.

Create a sharp crease on the left ear.

Now its time to create the pig features. A small round eye is perfect for the right side.

Repeat on the left side.

To create the nostrils in the snout, draw circles right in the center of the darker shaded diamond.

There you go. All done.
