I love this design because its really simple and looks great. And the decoration is completely customizable.

Supplies: 11 popsicle sticks, liquid glue (hot glue would work too), and stuff to decorate with (markers, paint, glitter, etc.)

The first step is to place your first two popsicle sticks vertical and about 2.5 inches apart.

Place a dot of glue on either end of both sticks, about 0.5 inches from the ends. Place two sticks horizontally across the first two sticks as shown in the above picture. You want there to be enough overhang on the horizontal stick that another vertical stick could be placed there.

Place four dots of glue close to the ends of the two horizontal sticks. Next, place two sticks vertically on these glue dots as shown in the picture above. You want these popsicle sticks to barely overlap the first two vertical sticks

Now take one of your popsicle sticks and break it in half. I used a pair of scissors to trim any sharp splinter-y bits. I lucked out and it broke evenly my first try but it can be difficult so be careful. (Kids please ask an adult for help)

You can also buy a smaller popsicle stick and use that instead.

Place a line of glue on the bottom horizontal stick and glue the half popsicle stick down.

Place two dots of glue about 0.5 inches to 1 inch from the top of either vertical stick. Place two horizontal sticks across the vertical sticks and through the glue, as shown above.

Repeat the above step of placing four dots of glue and two horizontal popsicle sticks. And congrats the construction is complete!

In terms of decorating you can decorate the base of your frame however you want. Use markers, paint, stickers, glitter, or whatever else you can think of!

I made mine into a picture frame ornament for the holidays using paint.

If you want to add a ribbon to hang yours use about 15 inches of ribbon. You can either glue it on or tie it around the top stick of the first pair of horizontal popsicle sticks.

The final picture area will be about 3 inches wide by 2.25 inches tall.
