Fabric Calla Lilies are beautiful and very easy to make. All you need are a few simple supplies and a few minutes.
Check out the DIY below …
Supplies: Hot glue gun, glue sticks, felt cutout of a heart, floral tape and floral wire (or in my case a wooden skewer 6″ long. To create the golden spadix, I dipped the top of the skewer in tacky glue, about 1″ deep, and then rolled it in golden glitter. I found that laying the stick on parchment paper helped as well as occasionally turning the stick around. This keeps the glue from accumulating at the bottom.
Wrap the floral tape around the skewer starting at the spadix. A helpful hint: stretch the tape as you wrap it around the skewer.
All wrapped up.
Working with the heart upside down, add a drop of hot glue right on the V of the heart.
Quickly place the wooden skewer on the hot glue bead as the photo shows.
Holding the calla lily in the same position as the photo, add a bead of hot glue to the right hand edge of the felt. Wrap the fabric around the skewer as tightly as you canto cover the very bottom of the spadix.
Repeat on the other side: a bead of glue on the edge of the curve …
and quickly press it down as tightly as possible.
The hard part is done. The only thing left to do is shape the calla lily. You do this by gently folding the edges of the felt towards the outside of the itself.
All done!
What a beautiful bouquet of calla lily
