Welcome to our creative enrichment programs. At Workshops Essayer, we teach students to be makers and think like makers. And along the way, they learn varied life skills and do it in a fun and engaging way. With more than 10 years experience teaching in private schools in New York City and Hoboken, NJ, we have refined and finessed our unique programs to meet the needs of our discerning students. In each and every class, instructors bring, and encourage our students to also bring, just a hint of whimsy, a dash of impish charm and a sprinkle of imagination.  We guide our students to create enticing goodies that are hard to resist.

AGD Crafts

Not enough accessories for your child’s American Girl or other brand of 18” doll? Workshops Essayer is thrilled to present a DIY afterschool program for students who love crafts and want to create whimsical and stylish accessories for their doll bestie.  Projects include: fairy skirt, beaded necklace and bracelet and gladiator sandals.  Students will explore a variety of techniques and skills as they work on these and other projects. For some of the projects, students will be able to make identical accessories for themselves as well.

For spring 2021, we will be running the classes a little differently than usual.  AGD Crafts full season is 12 classes.  We offer rolling admissions, which will allow students to start the class at any point from the week of January 10 to the week of May 10.  By this we mean, once a student registers for the season, it will take about a week for their class kit to arrive.  Once the kit arrives, the student can then join the rest of the class and start working on the project of the week.  And then they will have the next 11 consecutive weeks to finish the program.  We also offer make up classes on the weekends to help students who’ve missed class or need a little extra help to get caught up. We also offer custom scheduling, which means we can schedule classes per the student and instructor’s calendar availability. Please let us know you require custom scheduling once your child has enrolled in the program.

Classes run once a week for 12 sessions. I will also offer make up classes when needed.

Paper Doll Crafts

Doll names: Jasmine (top left), Reagan (top right), Kiara (bottom left) and Rudo (bottom right)

Welcome to the world of paper dolls, a childhood favorite of mine and beloved playtime for tons of kids today.  In this after school program, students will fold, pinch, cut and glue paper and other materials to create beautiful clothing and accessories for their paper dolls.  Students pick from one of four paper dolls: Kiara, Rudo, Jasmine and Reagan to start.  We will then send them a DIY kit that includes the paper doll along with different types of paper, ribbon and other fun craft supplies that will help students to create fantastical paper doll fashions.

For spring 2021, we will be running the classes a little differently than usual.  Paper Doll Crafts full season is 6 classes. And then they will have the next five consecutive weeks to finish the program. We also offer make up classes on the weekends to help students who’ve missed class or need a little extra help to get caught up. We also offer custom scheduling, which means we can schedule classes per the student and instructor’s calendar availability. Hot Chocolate Bombs Workshop

In this fun and engaging virtual workshop, chocolate is the word.  Students will immerse themselves in all things chocolate as they learn the steps they will take to create these spheres of deliciousness.  While the process to make hot chocolate bombs is really quite simple, it is time consuming, requires attention to detail and a lot of patience but the end result is worth the wait.  And as a fan of handmade gifts, anyone receiving a gift of these will appreciate the time and love that went into making them.

A list of ingredients and special equipment will be sent a week before class to give you time to assemble all the required materials.  The workshop runs for 2 hours.
